Postcards announcing that NAWIC is now accepting applications for its scholarship program were mailed out on February 8th to all high schools and colleges in Maine. We are accepting applications from high school seniors and current college students who are or will be enrolled in a post-secondary program that leads to a career in construction. Over the past 35 years, we are proud to have been able to award over $350,000 in scholarships. The deadline for application submission is March 15th. The 2019 Scholarships will be awarded in late spring.
Maine Chapter 276 of the National Association of Women in Construction is excited to be sponsoring the 35th Annual Construction Expo of Maine. This is a huge milestone and the perfect time to give the show a New Look!! You will see several examples such as:
- redesign of the posters and tickets
- a new floor plan
- new partners sponsoring exciting programs
- new marketing strategies
- new and returning exhibitors
- and, as you have already seen, we have a new Chapter Website.

The the Maine Chapter presented the Maine Community College System a check for $54,000 to establish a scholarship trust. Scholarships will be available through the MCCS for women who are enrolled in any of the community colleges who are pursuing a career in construction who need financial Magazine assistance.
